Satement Concerning the Freedom to Marry / Letter of Freedom.
A number of years ago the Archdiocese of Dublin introduced a standard form for those wishing to marry that replaced the ‘Letter of Freedom’. This form is called the Statement Concerning the Freedom to Marry. It replaces the Letter of Freedom in the sense that it is more convenient for the couple as it does away with the need for letters of freedom form the various places you may have lived.
The form is to be completed by a parent or sibling in the first instance or failing that by another close relative. This one form is a legal declaration and covers the person for all of the places that they have lived.
